According to co-writer Dennis Lambert, this was originally offered to
the Grass Roots, who turned it down. Unknown ABC-Dunhill labelmates
Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds took it to #4 nonetheless - and Grass
Roots singer Rob Grill now performs it in his/their live show. -- AWR

	         Em Bm/D
Take my heart, my soul, my money
	           C Am7/D G [all but 3: D/F#]
But don't leave me drownin' in my tears

Verse 1:

	                Em7 A7
	You say you're gonna leave
	                 D Bm
Gonna take that big white bird
	           Em7 A7
Gonna fly right out of here
	            D Bm
	Without a single word
	                       Em7 A7
Don't you know you'll break my heart
	                   D D/C# Bm

	 v v v v v v v v

[repeat chorus]

Verse 2:

Haven't I been good to you
What about that brand new ring
Doesn't that mean love to you
	Doesn't that mean anything
If I threw away my pride
And I got down on my knees
Would I have to beg you, "pretty please"

[repeat chorus]

There's so much I wanna do
I've got love enough for two
	    Fmaj7 D
But I'll never use it girl if I don't have you

[repeat chorus to fade]
