WHITE BAG 01 DETAILS PAGE.

The crochet is made with DNC thread. The original bag used Glossili thread
but they don't make that anymore. The closest I could get to that Glossili thread
is made by DNC size 5. I used a bigger crochet hook to get a bigger bag that I
find more usable in 2025 than the smaller size. It also has a looser lacy pattern
which makes the bag handle or feeling soft.
I used mostly satin for the lining but I have lined them with velvet and silk.
Satin is so shiny and lovely I tend to use satin on most of my bags. This bag's
lining is white satin - the same fabric wedding dresses are made from.

It takes me 40 hours to crochet one bag. A bit more time to line it, make and
attached the balls, put in the ribbon handle and sew in the fancy bead in the center
of the rose, both side of the bag.

Each bag comes with free gifts inside the bags. You get a hankerchief, pen, and
a couple of Victorian calling cards. From my research on these bags, this was
the typical things ladies back in the 1900's carried in these bags. If they were
going to the opera, they would toss in some opera glasses and they went to
the opera a lot so this bag gets called Opera bag. These bags are historial. Ladies
on the Tintanic had these bags. I used a published 1912 Opera Bag pattern
so I could bring it into 2025. There are many sellers selling this Opera bag pattern
but you just don't see this bag you can buy, so this is very rare opportunity
for purchasing one.

This bag is lined with white Satin fabric with a fancy trim on the top.
The ribbon handle is satin ribbon. The crochet is DNC size 5 thread.
This bag has the Victorian styled bead. It has 13 crocheted balls.

If you take care of this bag, not only will it last your life time but many generations
of your kinfolk. In order not to ruin your bag, I suggest you put perfume, lipstick, pen
in a plastic bag to avoid ruining your lining. Do not wash it in a washing machine or dryer.
Handwashing (no harsh rubbing) is the only safe way to clean your bag but it will take a long time to dry as
remove.
